Check out this message from singer and songwriter, Lizzie Sider, one of CMA’s “Artist to Watch” and performer from this year’s Baseball For All Nationals closing ceremonies.

Hi Everyone!

It was such an honor for me to meet and see all the girls playing out at Baseball For All Nationals. All the girls out there are so strong and empowered—I left feeling so inspired by you all!

Part of the reason I felt so strongly about performing at Nationals is to spread awareness about bullying—an issue that I know has touched so many of these girls lives as well as my own. Growing up, I was bullied relentlessly by girls at school. When I would come home crying, my dad would tell me, “Nobody has the power to ruin your day,” a saying that stuck with me and inspired me to become an activist against anti-bullying.

I created a nonprofit to support like yours who may be victims of bullying, just for being who they are. I’ve traveled to 400+ schools across the nation and have provided educational resources for over 7,000 schools.

As your daughter continues in baseball, I encourage her to keep playing like a girl. And if she ever experiences bullying—on or off the field—just remind her: “Nobody has the power to ruin your day!”
