A Florida teenager is taking her message about overcoming bullying to schools all across the state through song.

15-year-old Lizzie Sider was teased when she was in elementary school. She told us her peers would laugh at her and call her names; she often came home crying. “One day before I went to school, my dad told me, ‘No one has the power to ruin your day.'” Now that’s the message she wants other students to know.

Lizzie told us after she learned how to overcome bullying, she decided she wanted to talk to other kids about the important topic. So she wrote the song “Butterfly.”

You can download Lizzie’s song on iTunes.
