You would never know that the beautiful and bubbly teen who entertains a gymnasium or auditorium full of kids, tweens and teens was once teased and bullied to the point that she didn’t want to go to school. Lizzie Sider’s exuberance and energy parallels any NFL cheerleader’s.
But after her dad enlightened her with the words, “No one has the power to ruin your day,” the talented young singer decided to take the empowering message to the masses, and she’s spent much of the year visiting schools in Florida to share her uplifting perspective.
But Lizzie does more than just speak to her peers. She tells Country Weekly, “As I was putting together this assembly, I thought, ‘I know if I was a kid in the audience, rather than sitting and listening to a whole speech about being kind to each other, I would rather it be a lot of fun, and interactive.”
So the confident young woman engages her new friends in a Q & A session and discussion about positivity and self-esteem. And there is music, including her own song, “Butterfly.”
